It needs no light sensors, the steps are calculated by the on board computer and depending on the length of daylight. The tracker continually adjust itself for the longer and shorter days all year round. It follows the sun in 6 steps of 15° and parks in a horizontal position at night and should it make a mistake throughout the day, it will correct itself after sunset. The electronic control is equipped with a manual override to move the array east or west at any time for testing of the battery and linear actuator. The newest improvement is that up to 16 different times can now be stored in the programmable chip. Previously different chips were needed for different times, now the four standard times are all on one chip. If a customer regularly uses a different drive mechanism with a different time, this time can be programmed into the chip and the customer given the user code. Tracker Frames BW Solar has designed two simple tracker frames, the F1 and F2. The F1 can hold one bank of panels and the F2 can hold two banks of panels. When more than two banks of panels are required BW Solar uses two or three trackers controlled by one electronic. A heavy duty linear actuator is used for extra reliability. The frame is seasonally adjustable worldwide, a one man 5 minute job and is 100% balanced in every position to save energy when tracking.
